PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING YOUR DEMOREEL! - January 19th, 2003, 04:48 AM

Welcome to the VFXTalk Demoreel Gallery! If you have a new demoreel or showreel, are looking for publicity or just to get feedback on your work then post it here! Gloat, be proud...we love it

PLEASE try to post your work as a Attachment!
We accept attachments up to 50MB here and support all the media formats out there. If you submit your work as a attachment then you can update it at any time by editing the original post, and it will allways be here for people to see. Hyperlinks usually get changed and lost! Of course if your reel is over 50M then please do use a hyperlink!

Submission Thumbnails
The first image attached to the your post will be used as the thumbnail for your submission! If you dont attach a image, there will be no thumbnail. So if you are posting your demo-reel please post a image along with it! A example of the listing thumbnail is the image attached to this post.

Embeding Images
If you would like to embed your images in the post itself at full size just use the attachment drop down menu located in the attachment paperclip in the advanced editor (the default for all new posts)! A example is the image above, which is a embeded version of the attachment below. This is really very easy to do - once you have attached your images just click on the paperclip to insert them in your post!

Submission Thumbnails
VFXTalk also provides free hosting for your portfolio! You can also post your best works in the vfxtalk portolios section here http://www.vfxtalk.com/portfolios

Work In Progress
PLEASE, if the work is still being created, post it in the Work in Progress forum instead.

thanks!

Hehe. I love how you state that the image they attach will be the thumbnail for their demo reel, yet no one, save this sticky, has a thumbnail. I guess it's because everything has been transferred over, and no one has read this Sticky yet to add an attachment to their first post.

yea - its a new feature and none of the reels included screenshots - most have just been links to reels and demo sites...

there is another feature - people can also embed quicktimes using the '[qt]' tag...

Hey Jah,

Can you provide a syntax example for embedding the Quicktimes?

Awesome feature!

shure the proper syntax is to use the [QT] tags around the path to the movie. trying to figure out how to turn of bbcode so i can post a example here!

the only problem with the QT tags are they currently are fixed size so sometimes things look weird - i am working on a fix for this now but the mods so far are a bit too buggy to ad to the site as yet...

If no thumbnail was included with the first post of a thread is there any way of adding it? Editing the post doesn't give attachment options.

the editor you are seeing is the quick reply, you need to hit 'go advanced' to see all the options...

Oh, I see. Thanks.

Edit: When I try to upload my reel it spends the time sending the file, then tells me "you do not have permission to access this page." A still image uploaded fine. I have a high speed cable connection, so I doubt it's that. My file size is also well below the limit.

Nope, still says "you do not have permission the access this page" after about 15 mins or so of uploading.
