This Visual Effects Technical Director opportunity is a "Contract" position. Account # 1  Job # 1254
Are you interested in working for a growing, independent, award winning studio? Does creating effects for Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium interest you? The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, have the ability to take direction positively, work well within a team, and thrive under pressure of tight production deadlines. They must possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Produce photorealistic simulations of real world phenomena (ie. volumetric, explosions, destruction)
  • Produces test and often final renders of FX elements for a shot
  • Creates working test composites for review by the supervision team
  • Works in partnership with lighters & compositors to ensure shots are delivered to the very highest standard
  • Accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets on time and at a high level of quality
THIS IS WHAT WE REQUIRE:
  • 3+ years creating hyper-realistic effects simulations on feature films
  • Expert knowledge of Maya Particles/Fluids
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Mel scripting is a minimum requirement, python scripting preferred
  • Houdini experience/integration a bonus
